In contrast, women are protected and prized as the epitome of human innocence, purity, and beauty (and of course as babymakers, in the abstract, even if feminists/materialists increasingly refuse to make babies, of either gender even), and the average woman can have a decent life mainly just by getting people to like them, as opposed to the average man who needs much more respect (and less affection) in order to survive. Affection and being liked are obviously much easier to achieve than being respected, especially if you are a woman, and especially if you're young and attractive, since mainly just being nice and sociable is all it takes in most cases under those conditions, whereas earning respect for basic social survival is much more elusive and difficult to create any kind of generic formula for. It is slightly easier for men to gain a baseline, default level of respect than women, but only because it's generally understood that they need that basic respect to survive in ways that women don't, and are assumed to be putting in more effort into gaining that basic respect as a survival imperative.
